Lineman Jobs in Denver

Denver runs on Xcel Energy's Colorado territory, and the work splits three ways: metro distribution, a heavy underground cable load through the urban core, and foothills storm response when wet snow loads the lines west of town. Average lineman pay here is about $89,727 a year, which sits above the middle of the national range in our salary-by-state guide. IBEW Local 111 dispatches outside line calls for the Denver area, and Xcel lineworker postings list a Class A CDL as a requirement, not a nice-to-have.

Who Hires Here

Denver Linework Employers

Xcel EnergyUtility

The investor-owned utility for the metro; overhead and underground crews, Class A CDL on most lineworker postings.

Altitude EnergyContractor

Colorado-based line contractor working distribution and utility construction along the Front Range.

Q3 ContractingContractor

Underground utility construction; a fit if you want trenching, conduit, and cable work over hooks.

NoviniumUnderground

Cable rejuvenation and injection on aging underground circuits, a specialty niche most metros do not have.

Nearby Hiring Hubs

Aurora, Lakewood, Commerce City, and Boulder pull from the same dispatch and the same contractor bench, so a Denver address covers all of them. The underground share of this market is unusually high, which is worth knowing before you commit; the underground lineman career path covers where splicing leads.
